Eric H. Ledet (’95, ’03) is a biomedical engineer with 29 years of award-winning translational research experience, 23 years of experience consulting for the medical devices industry, and 12 years’ experience as a serial entrepreneur in the medical devices sector. He is also an award-winning educator who has developed curricula and taught courses on design, product development, and technology transfer. He has served on advisory boards for Fortune 500 companies, medical/health foundations, and medical device startups. Eric is the lead inventor on 21 issued patents, and he has over 150 peer-reviewed presentations and publications.
Prior to his current role as Director of RPI’s Severino Center for Technological Entrepreneurship, Eric served as Vice President of Research & Development and Director of the Health Innovations Incubator & Technology Center at the Center for Disability Services in Albany, NY. Previously, he was a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he was on the faculty for 17 years. He also served as a Research Scientist in the Rehabilitation R&D Service at the Stratton VA Medical Center. Eric is co-founder of I/O Surgical, LLC, inSense Medical, LLC, and Proactive Innovations, LLC. He concurrently serves as Chief Operating Officer for ReVivo Medical, Inc., an Albany, NY based startup. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Albany Medical College. Eric received his BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Arizona and his MS and Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
