The National Science Foundation Innovation Corps (I-Corps) program helps transition academic research and STEM-based innovations from the lab to real-world application. In partnership with the New York Region I-Corps Hub, RPI offers a five-week program open to undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff from colleges and universities across New York’s Capital Region.
Participating teams with a STEM-based technology concept can receive $3,000 in funding to develop a Business Model Canvas and conduct customer discovery interviews. The program provides training, networking, and infrastructure to help participants assess the commercial potential of their laboratory innovation beyond campus borders.
Upon completing the regional program, teams may be eligible to apply for the National NSF I-Corps Teams program—an intensive seven-week initiative with the opportunity to receive a $50,000 grant to further their entrepreneurial journey.
